Well, i thought so too, and I am pleased to announce that I have in fact submitted most of my 20 url/sites to at least 40 search engines. In truth, prior to last month, I had submitted a few of my important sites to more than 40 search engines and 60 directories. Boy were, we proud of ourselves.
But was that enough? One would think so, but in reality the
more backlinks there are that are point back to your site, is the more valuable your site credibility becomes in the search engines.
There are hundreds, no thousands of worth while directories that we should have painstakingly found and then found our specific category and submitted to. Right, but that was too much work, so it wasn't going to happen...
Though there are a dozen main search engines, there are also hundreds of minor search engines whose results are spidered by Google in order to find sites that may have been missed.
And there are thousands of FFA's that will take links. Some of these are great and others are medicre but most of these backlinks taken altogether count positively, especially if the links are put into relevant categories.
Every time, your site shows up in one of these minor sites, Google/Yahoo/Msn adds a vakuable back link to your sites' link count.
The Problem with Doing it ManuallyBut search engine submission or submiting sites can be very tiring. It takes weeks and even months to submit one's half dozen websites to hundreds of search engines and directories.
And in truth, until recently, we had not done a thorough job of

- Your domain may be sitting on a shared ip address that includes adult too.
- Your domain name may be sitting on an ip address used by email spammers in the distant past
